| Fall, 2011 Field Trial September 10-11, 2011 | Thank you to all that came and supported us, each year the fall trial gets harder to make our stakes qualifying, all of the adult stakes were, except the amateur all age which was cancelled due to lack of entries. Last year we had 77 entries this year we were down to 66 ...this makes it extremely hard for a club to be in the black, thankfully we have had two successful spring trials to give us that extra that is needed.
Thank you to our judges and dedicated club members, that without them we could not hold a trial. Among missing club members this year were Dan and Allison Riedl, how fitting was it for their first child, Michael Francis Riedl, to be born on our trial date, Congratulations Dan & Allison! Plans were already in place to have their gun dog Annie run with Jimmy Johnson this fall and Al Cropek to fill in for Dan in the amateur stakes, I guess Annie is on a serious roll and just takes the handlers along for the ride, as she won the OLGD, OGD and placed second in the AGD, after winning the AGD stake the weekend before in Michigan.

| Thank you to the judges and all the volunteers that worked from dawn until dusk to complete this trial, it was one of the more challenging ones. With the first trial of the season it is always good to see all our ol’ friends and meet the new. There was a light layer of snow on the grounds Friday that melted as the sun came up on Saturday morning, the wind picked up and the temps were in the mid to high 50s, Sunday had a chill in the air with the temps near 40.

4- Cedar Valley Bandit, Tommy Tracy | February 10, 2011 Upgrades are Planned at the Tri-Valley Wildlife Area | Several important upgrades are planned for the Tri-Valley Wildlife area this spring. Most significant are the prescribed burning of 5 grassland units for a total of almost 50 acres. The burning is planned sometime during early March-late April and will be scheduled during the week so as not to interfere with field trials. A map of the planned burn areas is below. In addition, the state is working to grade a road off the parking lot this spring and enlarge the parking area. Other news and notes: The state will consider some additional mowing. Details are being discussed There are still contracts in place on the farm fields those will not be available this spring please be sure to keep your exhibitors out of those fields. Snow fencing will be erected across the opening. As those contract expire they will be rewritten to allow us to use the fields.
Field trialers should be aware that they will be ticketed if they are parked on the grassy areas. All parking must be within the gravel parking lot. The tickets will be expensive and no warnings will be given. Overnight stays are only allowed inside the gated area at the Sportsmans Center. | | Fall, 2010 Field Trial | September 11-12, 2010 Tri-Valley Wildlife Area, Dresden, Ohio
Our first fall trial at Tri-Valley brought a smaller entry than our spring
trial, it allowed us to use just the two courses located around the
clubhouse area. Threats of rain held off until after Saturday's running as
we gathered in the new clubhouse to enjoy a potluck meal before placements.
Many thanks to all those willing to pitch in and help the trial run smoothly
and the entry support. I learnt Thursday evening I would be filling in as
field trial secretary for Jim Hamer who was not feeling well, we missed him
along with Larry McDonald and Darlene (Ron) Lisuis and wish them all a
speedy recovery. We were glad to see Rachel Zook looking good and enjoying
herself on Saturday afternoon. Tri-Valley will be very picturesque once the
leaves start turning.

| | Summer Specialty, 2010 | The Buckeye Brittany Club wishes to thank all of our exhibitors and spectators for coming to our specialty yesterday! We had nice weather, a great showing of Brittanys and a fun luncheon afterward with everyone socializing.
We really appreciate the support we receive from the Brittany community. It's fun to see new faces also and we had quite a few of them this year. I'd also like to thank our Brittany breeder-judge Ron Auten for agreeing to do the sweeps for us. And Ron you got out of there before the club could give you your judges gift so it is in the mail to you!
On a personal note I'd like to thank the club members for the beautiful plate and the word of thanks. I get alot of help doing the specialty from the club members but they also know how stressful it can be working with all-breed kennel clubs. Thankfully this year I had a show chairman who was more than willing to work with us and things went smoothly. Thanks also Marc Redick who helped Carl with our Cruz when he got sick before showtime and thank you for the inquiries into how he's doing. He seems to be getting back to his usual playful self but he was one sick boy yesterday afternoon which is why he is marked absent in the catalog.
Congratulations to all of the winners and it was really nice seeing everyone at our specialty again!

3rd & 4th Withheld | | Fall, 2009 Field Trial | The final chapter of the Buckeye field trials held at Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area in Harpster, Ohio has came to an end. We would like thank our judges, entrants and our ever faithful and dedicated club members that are there through the thick and thin of it; well, you know... through the wide range of weather we can have through the Spring's cold, snow and ice or the Fall's steamy dry temperatures, and being the first trial of the season, we are never sure where the mowing has been done. With the grounds being inspected on Friday afternoon the decision was made to run only two courses with the size of entry we had and to change up the all age course to where it would benefit the dogs with more mowed areas. The heat and no wind made the scenting conditions a challenge for a majority of the stakes, as you will see with the below unofficial results.
We are still unsure what we are in for with our new grounds at Tri Valley (near Dresden, Ohio), but are up to the challenge the State keeps giving us. Hopefully you will all consider coming March 13-14, 2010 to help support this new venue. The Pennsylvania Shooting Dog Championships is scheduled to follow on March 15-16 on the same grounds.

Fairgrounds in conjunction with the Dan Emmett Kennel Club show. The weather was a little iffy at times with rain showers off and on but overall it was a nice day. We'd like to thank all of the exhibitors and spectators who were at our show. We realize in this financial climate that entries and travel expenses can often deter us from competing and we appreciate each and every entry and all of the support we received from the Brittany community.

The Buckeye Brittany Club held it’s annual specialty show on July 26, 2008 at the Marion County Fairgrounds in Marion, Ohio. The show is held in conjunction with the Dan Emmet Kennel Club. The all breed show this year was dedicated in memory of Kay Wiggins, long time kennel club member and treasurer and also long time Brittany owner.
The weather was hot and threatened to rain several times but it held off and we were able to have our luncheon after showing was over. I want to thank everyone who entered our specialty despite the high gas prices and the club appreciates the support very much! We had an outstanding turn-out of club members to the show this year and that was wonderful! Thank you to everyone for all of your help and support! Everyone pitched in to help with food and set-up and I think we all had a good time watching the dogs strut their stuff in the ring.

After a delicous potluck meal hosted by George and Theresa Kucsma, our winter meeting was held. Officers were elected and our upcoming show and field trial were discussed. Our fun trial was held at Elk Ridge Game Farm. The weather the day before was horrific, but it improved significantly for us on Sunday, November 12th. A good number of folks showed up with several new members present. Mark Beran, a field trial pro and new club member, spent the day judging each of our events. His efforts were greatly appreciated!! Thank you also to Carl Anglen, Jim Hoffman, George Simons and Wade Haines who spent the day planting birds.
